About the event
This week an EJCC delegation had a private audience with Pope Francis in Rome to discuss "How identities can be used to unite instead of separate."
One of the central points of the meeting agenda was access to, and full digitization of Inquisition documents undertaken by our dear friend Mrs. Genie Milgrom. The Pope especially supported this initiative and appointed a person to continue this effort to find documents "Wherever they might be found" and make them available to the public for historical and genealogical purposes.
This is a very meaningful step to uncover meaningful chapters of Jewish history and we salute the Pope for his courage and support for this project.
The Pope congratulated EJCC’s Dialogue & Diversity project to bring mutual respect in the European diverse society and spoke of El Camino de Paz, Darkei Shalom or The Path of Peace, which can be achieved only “Drop by drop.”
We thank Pope Francis for welcoming the EJCC delegation so warmly and wish him good health and many long and meaningful years!
